Sunday 17th September - 'Ippon Challenge'        Bradford             BRONZE

With divisions in Light and Semi Contact this event is open to all students, We will be leaving the club at 8.15am on Sunday to travel to the venue.
 
This is a pre registration event, Admission costs for fighters are £20 for the first category, £15 for the second and £10 for any thereafter. Cost for spectators will be £5 which can be paid on the door.
 
If you want to attend either as a competitor or spectator please enter your name on the list at the academy by no later than Friday 8th September. Details on all divisions are posted on the notice board and below just click on the poster and scroll down.

Saturday 23rd September - ADULT ENTERTAINMENT NIGHT @ ROSEMOUNT WMC, STACKSTEADS

We have some great acts lined up for this event with drag artist Leah - tard as the compere and super singer Francesca plus the very funny Sean Mack, you will be guaranteed a terrific nights entertainment. Tickets are now available from Tracy Petterson priced £10, alternatively there is an option to pay £12 on the night. Doors open at 7.30.

 

Sunday 8th October - ISKA NATIONALS in Birmingham                 BRONZE

We will be attending this event being held at the North Solihull Sports Centre in Chelmsley Wood, Birmingham. There are divisions in Light and Semi Contact and to save money we will be pre registering.

We will be leaving the academy at 7.15am prompt on the Sunday to travel to the venue. Doors open at 9.30am and fighting will start at 11.00am please do not be late as we cannot afford to wait.

All those wishing to attend as a competitor need to have there details on the sheet at the club by no later than Friday 29th September.

All details on categories are posted below and also on the academies noticeboard, entry fees are £15 for the first division and £10 for any additional ones entered. Spectators will be required to pay the £8 admission fee on the day.

 

Saturday 28th October - 'HALLOWEEN FRIGHT NIGHT SPONSORED SLEEPOVER' @ THE ACADEMY

Our sponsored HALLOWEEN FRIGHT NIGHT SLEEPOVER for the children will be held on Saturday 28th October, all those wishing to participate will need to arrive at the club between 7.30pm – 8.00pm dressed in a Halloween costume with a packed lunch for a midnight feast and a sleeping bag and pillow. There will be a prize for the scariest dressed girl and boy so get your creative minds working.

The club will provide all the children with a breakfast in the morning before they are picked up at 9.00am prompt.

This is a fundraiser for the academy, children attending will be required to have handed in an envelope addressed to Tracy Petterson containing a completed sponsor sheet and the relevant monies (minimum £10) per child by Wednesday 25th October. If they fail to do this they will not be permitted entry on the night, blank sponsor sheets are available at the academy. This event is open to all children and gives you mums and dads the opportunity to have a quiet night at home whilst your kids have a great time, sounds like a no brainer to me !

 

Saturday 25th November - ‘Grading Day for Coloured Belts’ from 10.30am onwards

Coloured belt grades will be taken at the academy on Saturday 25th November, students selected to take grades will be advised by Monday 6th November. Please make sure you follow the instructions contained in the letter when you receive it. Please note students who are not up to date with the payment of their monthly fees or do not have an up to date current licence will NOT be allowed to take their grade. NOTE THERE WILL BE NO SATURDAY LESSON ON THIS DATE DUE TO THE GRADING TAKING ALL DAY.

 

Tuesday 5th December - ‘Black belt Grading‘ 6.30pm - late

Several students are due to take black belt grades this year, the grading will be taken by Joe Tierney. Those taking their grades will be notified by letter by Monday 6th November.

 

Sunday 10th December - ‘Bag Pack at Asda Rawtenstall’ 11.30am – 4.30pm

We will be looking for members to participate in what will be our last bag pack of the year, ASDA are a great supporter of the academy and with it being such a big store we really want to ensure we have plenty of students and parents helping out. Please look out for the list going up in the academy and put your name on if you wish to take part.

 

Saturday 20th January 2018 - ‘Presentation Evening'

This will be held at St Marys Chambers in Rawtenstall with the doors opening at 6.00pm for a 6.45pm start and will include the presentation of awards to students who successfully passed grades in 2017 and the revealing of the student who our instructors feel is the deserving winner of the much coveted Student of the Year award. The event, which will include a hot supper is subsidised by the academy so the cost for Admission is just £3 per person to be paid on the door. We very much look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible on what is always an extremely enjoyable evening.
