Attending Competitions in 2012

From January 2012 the academies instructors will grade the competitions our members will attend into Gold, Silver and Bronze standard dependant on their level of difficulty, in turn all members will be graded in terms of experience and ability and will also receive either a Gold, Silver or Bronze grading.

Gold grade members deemed as our most experienced fighters will be able to compete at any standard competition, Silver grade members will be allowed to compete at Silver and Bronze standard competitions and Bronze grade members will be able to compete at Bronze rated competitions.

Each of the competitions listed in the upcoming events for 2012 below,  will have the standard rating allocated to it, to find out your grading from the instructors please see them in January 2012, as members become more experienced and capable their individual grade rating will be adjusted.

Please also remember any member competing at a competition must always be in the Academies kit, their will be no exceptions to this rule.

Upcoming Events in 2012

Sunday 26th February  WKC National Championships @ 'Manchester' BRONZE

This event is for light continuous only and is a qualifier for the WKC World Championships to be held in Montreal Canada later this year, we will be leaving the academy at 9.15am and those attending need to meet at the academy for 09.00am. Details on admission have not been released but we expect it to be £20 for fighters and £5 for spectators.

 

Friday 2nd March - Sunday 4th March IRISH OPEN at 'Dublin' GOLD

Probably the greatest kickboxing competition in the World held over three days at the impressive City West venue in Dublin, we are in the process of making the arrangements for this trip which we will undertake in the minibus travelling via the Holyhead to Dublin ferry, details on costs and arrangements will be made available to gold standard fighters and those wishing to spectate as soon as possible, please keep an eye on this page and the academies notice board for updates.

Sunday 11th March    'WARRIORS OPEN INTER CLUB' at BOLTON BRONZE

Light Contact and Semi contact event ideal for novices and intermediates. Admission is £10 for fighters and £5 for spectators, we will be leaving the academy at 9.45am, those attending need to put their name on the list and ensure they are at the academy for 9.30pm on the day.

Sunday 1st April    'ISKA NATIONALS' at BIRMINGHAM SILVER

Light and Semi contact event for which we will pre register, taking advantage of the reduced admission price of £15 for fighters and £6 for spectators. We will be leaving the academy at 8.15am. Those wishing to attend this event either as a fighter or spectator need to get a form from the office, returning it completed with the appropraite monies by Wednesday 21st March so we can complete the pre registration and submit it to the tournament organisers.

Sunday 29th April   'WUMA NATIONALS' at WORCESTER BRONZE

Light and Semi contact event, Admission is £10 for fighters under 16 years of age and £15 for adults. Spectators under 16 pay £5 whilst adults pay £10. We will be travelling to this event on Saturday leaving the academy at 2.30pm, stopping overnight in the Birmingham area, costs for accommodation will be £10 for members and £20 for non members. All those including spectators wishing to attend this event need to have their names on the list by Friday 13th April so we can book the rooms.

Sunday 13th May 'JUDGEMENT DAY' at Sheffield SILVER

Always a popular competition with our members held in the magnificent Ponds Forge venue at Sheffield, we will be travelling the day before staying overnight in Sheffield, further details on this event will be posted nearer the time, Please note we have to pre register for this event which entails pre booking the fighters and spectators.
